This month I have been on a bit of “Inspire Me” mission to get me ready for the year ahead. 2015 seems to be shaping up as a bit of a filler year, which isn’t completely ideal. However, in saying that I am quite excited about getting to do do quite a few things I have been wanting to do for ages! Anyway, today’s post is all about the things that help inspire me with my writing.
– A collage board
I made the collage board above at the end of last year when I was trying to figure out what made me, me and why I write my blog, and who I write it for. This board it stuck to the wall in front of my desk so I can see it everyday when I am writing.
– Nice notebooks
Have beautiful looking notebooks to write in always makes me feel better. I especially love this ‘Remember, ideas become things” yellow one I got from Whitcoulls and the Bokeh Eiffel Tower one from Typo. Both of them are amazing and keep all my blog and writing notes together. The yellow one also has different coloured pages and extra pages with quotes to keep you inspired as you go.
– Pretty coloured pens
Colours are very important to me as I love to colour code things as well as be able to doodle.
– Special writing pens (calligraphy pens)
I love the way my writing looks when I use calligraphy pens or the nice roller ball ink pens. There is just something a bit quaint and old fashioned about it that helps to inspire me.
– Blogging challenges
I love looking through the daily blogging challenges for ideas on posts to write that I would enjoy writing. I have tons of drafts just waiting to resurface and be written.
– Life events
Of course I love to share the occasional life event on my blog, significant and otherwise. I love being able to write a blog post on a little thought I had during the day and sharing it with my readers!
Quotes are just a motivation and inspiration for me to keep writing and not to doubt myself. I have a folder of Daily Affirmations that I set on shuffle for my desktop background to change everyday. Greta for when ‘m in a blogging rut!
This includes photos I have taken myself, as well as hours of scrolling through Pinterest and Instagram!
– Reading other blogs!
I read other people’s blog everyday using Bloglovin as I find it the easiest way to keep up with what other bloggers are doing. I also just like to read other blogs in my down time as a bit of entertainment to before getting back onto my own blog.
– WordPress Daily Prompts
Lately I have been scouring the WordPress Daily prompts, similarly to how I use the prompts from blogging challenges. Some of them are helpful for getting me to share more personal posts on the blog, as well as some lifestyle posts. However, there are a a lot of them that I will probably never use on Child of Ponderings, but maybe as a kind of personal diary exercise.
I love watching beauty vloggers on Youtube and getting ideas for makeup looks I could try myself and make into a new tutorial, with my own take, for my readers. I also just like to watch random videos.
Well there you have it! These are just a few of the things that help inspire me, but I want to know what inspires you! Let me know in the comments because it might just be something that might help inspire me too!
