What wonderful weather we have been having in Christchurch the last few days. And I’m not kidding. I love this weather when the rain is slowly drizzling down from above. It means autumn is here, with all its beautiful colours, and winter, my favourite season, is on it’s way. I am writing this post as I wait for my bus to university this morning as I can’t wait to tell you all about what an awesome night I had last night.
As a few of you will be aware last week I found out that I had won a double pass to the Cleo premiere of the movie ‘Divergent’. I was so excited that I went and read the book that the movie is based in, written by Veronica Roth, as I am quite the book lover. And I can definitely say that I do not regret having read the book first as the movie was so faithful to the author’s vision but also exciting, emotionally invoking and mind-blowing. For all you who are fans of the book you will not be heart-broken over the directors missing out your favourite part a it was all there! Even the brilliant author Miss Roth was extremely pleased with what they did with her book.
This isn’t just a movie for girls though, as we saw quite a number if boyfriends and husbands enjoying themselves in the humour and action, even getting caught up in some of the more emotional scenes. And there was definitely humorous scenes that even managed to get all is kiwis laughing so hard, especially in one of the more romantic scenes when someone in the audience gave a very well timed wolf whistle. I can’t wait to see what they do with the next book, ‘Insurgent’, which is already in production.
As you can tell I had an absolute blast watching this movie and I am so grateful to have been able to hate the experience with my friend who i also called Sarah (hence the title). I haven’t had a chance to catch up with this girl in quite a few months seeing as we lived a fair distance from each other. We spent a good almost two hours shopping in the mall, finding out we have very similar tastes in clothing colour palettes and styles. We had to restrain ourselves a bit to make sure we actually had money left over for dinner before going to see the movie.
As we still had a bit of time to kill before we could go into the movie theatre we decided to go and play some games in the arcade. We went into the photo both where you get a printed picture turned into a drawing or caricature ( I seemed to have a lot of trouble saying that word) laughing so hard an making funny faces, as well as trying to get some lollies out of those game machines and failing. Even after the movie we still had a few tokens left so we went to play one of those motorcycle games but we couldn’t figure out how to get the bike to start moving!! We had only 15 seconds left of the game when Sarah finally figured out that the acceleration was just like on a real motorbike. We are vey special Sarah’s. All in all it was a fantastic night out with a lot of great memories. I might even go and see Divergent again, it was that good.
Hope you are all having a fantastic well and are looking forward to your holiday break ( mine starts in 2 days).
