“A rose by any other name would smell as sweet” ~ William Shakespeare
If you follow me on Facebook and Twitter you will have noticed that over the past few months I have been hinting at this big change for the blog. I had been feeling for quite some time that I needed a new name for Child of Ponderings as it didn’t really fit with the idea I had for the blog. So as of today (and well all last week) Child of Ponderings will now be known as The Spanish Bluebell.
Was it really necessary to rename, you ask.
Well the simple answer to that is yes!! As I said before the name “Child of Ponderings” didn’t really fit with the topics that I have the most passion for writing about. You will have noticed that the majority of my posts are about Beauty and Travel with a few other topics dotted around. I still like to write about my thoughts on things but “Child of Ponderings” seemed a bit too philosophical for me.
Why “The Spanish Bluebell”?
After almost 3 months of discontent with my previous name and 3 more months of planning and learning, I decided on the name The Spanish Bluebell because it fits perfectly with my aims, passions and self. If you have been reading the blog for a while you will know that I was born in Spain and still have a strong affinity with the country. I also love to travel and I write a lot of posts that are travel centred. This is where the Spanish part of the new name comes from. But to incorporate my love of beautiful things and be able to also tie them into the blog I chose to add to the name one of my favourite flowers which is the Bluebell. It is my hope that when put together the two words will give you a sense of me, a person who love travel and beautiful things as that is what I will be posting about!
The only downfall of this naming is that I do have a few things that I still have to change….. and there also just so happens to be an actual flower called the spanish bluebell which makes it a bit difficult when searching for my blog in Google. So as a hint for you (and if you happen to be sharing my blog with your friends) look up “The Spanish Bluebell Sarah-Elizabeth” and I’ll pop up at the top!
What do you think of the rename? I’d love to know your thoughts. Do you think of travel and beautiful things when you read “The Spanish Bluebell” or do you just think the blog would be about gardening. (Which is cool too I guess but you will be a bit disappointed!)
