I’m back!…. well kind of
You could say the craziness has taken me over! The first third of the year of my degree was deceivingly calm at Vision, with not many assignments to do. I have also started an internship at my church and have become a member of the Creative Leadership Team there too! Then came exam time, which in reality wasn’t so bad as I only had 3 exams, but it was followed by a hectic 2-week “holiday”. This second semester (and final semester of my degree) sees me preparing for my end of year Recital, as well as coordinating a big personal event for next year, and coordinating a smaller event (our annual Showcase) for my 3rd year Project. This past week alone I haven’t been at home a single night before 9pm, with most of my days starting at 9am.
I also have some exciting news that I will be sharing on the blog next week so stay tuned for that! If you know me in real life you can probably guess what the post is going to be about. What does this mean for the Spanish Bluebell? Well, in reality, I don’t actually have a lot of time to write, but I need to in order to keep myself sane! So for the next month, I won’t have a whole lot of posts but I do want to keep track of some of the awesome opportunities I come across.
I have also made the decision to not be Vegetarian anymore. This happened about halfway through last year as I wasn’t getting enough nutritious food at the student hall I was living at. However, I have decided to carry that on into my flatting life. I only eat chicken or fish normally once or twice a week. (It’s still a lot cheaper to be vege!) Plus I also have the freedom of making my own food now and am managing to cook more nutritious food that I can eat and enjoy eating.
101 Things in 1001 Days
In all this weird busyness/calmness I have managed to complete 9 of my goals for 101 Things in 1001 Days.
45# Learn to play a new board game (Bible blurt at a 0-30’s leaders meeting) 55# Try crème brûlée (I tried it at House on Hood, Hamilton. So delicious!) 65# Start a band (I’m in a duo with my fellow 3rd year Aram and we are called ARAH music nz.) 66# Volunteer at church (I’m in the worship team, Young Adults Core Team and Creative Leadership team. All volunteer positions!) 82# Attend a wedding (I was maid-of-honour at my best friend’s wedding at the beginning of February 2018) 86# Find a job (I teach a choir at a Christians School) 90# Go flatting 99# Travel on a plane with my boyfriend (We flew from Christchurch to Hamilton after my friend’s wedding in February 2018) 100# Celebrate 1 year with my boyfriend (27-April 2018)
I am actually quite proud of what I have achieved so far this year. Somehow I am managing to keep everything in balance and haven’t completely lost the plot yet. Next on my list though is finding me time and extra God time in my week.
How has your year been so far? What are you most proud of?
