It’s that time of the month again! Time to talk about what happened in my life during July and share some of my most popular posts and photos. Drove on the Motorway for the first time….
…without freaking out too much! As you might know I have been having weekly driving lessons in the hope to finally get my Restricted drivers license. (In New Zealand your Restricted license means being able to drive alone between 5am and 10pm). Driving on the motorway has always seemed like a bit of a scary thing to me until a couple a weeks ago when I drove it for the first time. I also “passed” my first car and all of this seemed much easier than trying to parallel park.

Celebrated The Spanish Bluebell’s 2nd Birthday
So if you have been around lately you will have seen that I have celebrating my 2 year bloggaversary (blogging anniversary). I had a few wee giveaways (including a giveaway that I am currently running with Bossy Cosmetics!), got to catch up with my blogging bestie, Analesha from Lipstick and Bubbles, talk about some of my favourite Lushproducts, build a relationship with a couple of new brands, try some new hair products and look back on some of the things I am thankful for. All in all July was a great month to celebrate the Spanish Bluebell’s Second Birthday.
I learnt a new skill of editing my photos with double exposure. This one is an old makeup look I did that didn’t look so great on camera. Once I combined it with the double exposure of the bluebell forest, it was fit for a profile picture for the blog!
Learning to use double exposure and decided to create a new profile pic out of it! Quite happy with the results. A photo posted by Sarah-Elizabeth (@spanishbluebell) on
Wraps have been my go to lunch for work lately as they are so easy to make and quite filling. Normally I like to put in a falafel patty, grated carrot, cucumber, mini spinach leaves, hot sauce, cottage cheese, and some delicious homemade hummus.
Playing around with colour in my eye makeup is one of my favourite things to do. I saw this picture of this awesome yellow corners in the eye on Instagram from Jordanne-Leigh, whose blog is Jordanne Leigh. So I thought I would try it out myself!
Yesterday I played around with some colour on my eyes. Thanks for the inspiration @missjordanneleigh !! The pop of yellow in the corner of the eye is amazing! A photo posted by Sarah-Elizabeth (@spanishbluebell) on
Carrying on with the popular theme of my vegetarian food exploring I tried out one of the awesome vegetarian dishes from my work. Zucchini fritters, poached eggs, and a delicious spicy tomato sauce. Need to try to recreate this at home!
One of the albums I have listening to non-stop since it’s release is Tori Kelly’s new album Unbreakable Smile. Her voice is so incredible and her songs talk about very real and relatable things to someone like me. My favourite songs from the album have to be Unbreakable Smile, Talk, Funny, and her duet with Ed Sheeran, I Was Made For Loving you.
Something that I have used every single day during July, since buying, is the Feeling Younger Lush Skin Tint. I purchased it after seeing Kirsty’s post using it in her Strobing tutorial and was hooked! Let’s just say I have fallen in love with it as a highlighter and it is another product I have become obsessed with. If they ever discontinued it I would be heartbroken!! I like to use this all over my face to give a subtle glow under my foundation. I also use it as an under eye concealer and a highlighter on my cheeks.
Oh my goodness… I was so crazy excited to finally get this in the mail and start using it. COmpared to my Australis AC on Tour Kit, the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit is totally worth the extra money. (I still love my AC on Tour, don’t get me wrong!) I also got the NYX Setting Spray which has worked wonders on making my makeup last longer, especially at work!
I am a bit addicted to these smoothies from #simplysqueezed !! The CocoNinja is my favourite! So good when I can’t handle a full meal after work or as a quick pick me up during the day. A photo posted by Sarah-Elizabeth (@spanishbluebell) on
Food wise you have seen earlier that I have been making myself some yummy wraps, however there is a new drink rocking my boat. The CocoNinja smoothie by Simply Squeezed has quickly jumped to the top of my list for favourite drinks. I really need to find a way to make this at home. Have actually been tossing up the idea of buying myself a Magic or Nutri Bullet to make my own smoothies at home.
Wanderlusting – Travel has been on my mind recently again. With my impending trip to Dunedin I am itching to go see the rest of the world too. I wanted to make a list of a few places that are definitely on my list to go to. Quite a few are in Europe such as Venice, Paris and Spain but
Bossy Cosmetics + Giveaway – No surprise that this was one of the most popular posts of the month, even though it only went live in the last couple of days. Bossy Cosmetics is an awesome Cruelty-Free beauty company in New Zealand.
Flamenco Makeup Tutorial – I really must get onto doing another tutorial soon as this Flamenco Makeup Tutorial has been in my top 3 posts nearly every month since writing it!
