J.K. ROWLING’S FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM
SCREENPLAY TO BE PUBLISHED 19th November 2016 | hardback | $44.99
Here I was thinking that the only new Happy Potter universe material I would be reading from J.K Rowling this year would be the script of her play “The Cursed Child” and her writings on Pottermore. Yet she has wowed me again with news today of the release of the screenplay for the movie Fantastic Beasts and where to find them (19th November 2016).
I hope that if you are a Harry Potter fan, you have already seen the trailer for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, but if you haven’t I have it below for you to watch.
Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them is a new and original work by J. K. Rowling, written especially for the screen. It is based on one of Harry Potter’s textbooks of the same name. The story is set pre-Harry Potter and follows the exploits of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne, Les Miserables 2013), a magizoologist, in 1920s New York.
“Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical briefcase, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.”
Mark the 18th of November 2016 in your calendar for this movie!
I am really looking forward to watching the movie and will quite probably buy the screenplay, along with the script publication for “The Cursed Child” play, to add to my Harry Potter collection. I’m also really looking forward to seeing what life was life for witches and wizards in one of my favourite eras, the 1920s!!
Will you be buying the screenplay when it’s released, or are you happy just to sit back and enjoy the film?
