We have a new family member!
You may remember that in August I posted here about our dog Bonnie being put down. It was a sad time for me and my family as Bonnie had been a part of our family for 13 years. Now you may have noticed that lately, I changed all my blog, Facebook and Twitter headers to include our new family member and to add a halo to Bonnie’s frame. In October my parents decided to re-home a 7 month-old Welsh Springer Spaniel called Munro. We renamed him Manuel (Manu for short) and he has since become the perfect addition to our household. I didn’t get to meet Manu until I got home a few weeks ago but we were instantly friends and he accepted me as a part of his family with no hesitation.
Puppy eyes are so a real thing!
It is so weird having a puppy in the house because I forget all the time that he is still a puppy. Already Manu is bigger than Bonnie was as an adult and he has way more energy than she did in her final years. He is so curious of the world around him, always super excited whenever any of us get home (but especially Dad). He always has to have a good morning cuddle with everyone as they get up.
But what about Luna, my cat? Haha well, Luna has always been a bit on the wild side and seems to hold this young pup in a bit of contempt. What else would you expect from the older woman in his life? They get along enough to occasionally share the same space and to share the house. I think it has to do with Manu always wanting to play and Luna wanting to sleep. Yet, I distinctly remember Luna being like that with Bonnie when we first brought Luna home. How the world changes.
Do you have a pet at home? Can you remember what it was like when you first got them?
