This year has been a rather interesting learning year for me, with my first year of university and trying to juggle work, youth leaderships, university and my volunteering. It was rather hectic to begin with and even more so at the end.
My top 6 life lessons of 2014
1. Get yourself organised!
Seriously! Even though I bought myself a diary I hardly used it after the first 6 months, and that was the worst time for me to stop using it! Trying to juggle all the things I was doing and only being in my first year of university didn’t completely work out for me.
2. Get Studying
I never got myself into a proper routine for studying at university. The first year is really crucial for getting into a routine. I’m going to have to push myself a lot harder in my next year of university to actually do this and I know I’ll hate it, but the degree in the end will be worth it!
3. Don’t dye your hair blonde at home
Especially not the day before your birthday!!
4. Setting yourself challenges is hard
That’s why it’s called a challenge fool!! I especially learn’t that if I set myself a challenge on my blog for everyone to see, my parents will bring it up when they discover my blog. (Hi parents!)
5. Things aren’t as scary and stressful as I make them out to be
I have a bit of trouble with putting myself out there in social and work situations. For example big group settings tend to scare me a bit.. Way too many people to talk to for this half-intovert. But then when I start talking to new people and old it makes it a lot more fun. Also I thought working full time at the cafe I’m working at over the summer would be really stressful and I wouldn’t enjoy it, but guess what? I actually really enjoy my job! Plus it is so not as stressful as university. #NoHomework
6. The way I think affects the way I live
If I think I am not going to be happy or as in #5 that I am going to be stressed, I can guarantee I will be!! This year for me has been all about catching myself in my thoughts whether they are aimed at me or other people and acknowledging my feelings. (#HelloPsychology)
Well that was my 6 life lessons that stood out to me for the year (and that I can currently remember). Have you had any stand out life lessons this year?
