With the nights getting cooler, and darker faster, New Zealand is definitely heading in to Autumn. In my world Autumn brings all the beautiful rich colours that I love most, like shades of brown, gold, orange, red, purple, and other berry colours. So I though it would be perfect to share with you some of my favourite cruelty-free makeup berry tones for Autumn.
I’ve written about my collection of Sleek MakeUP palettes before, but they are so amazing and the Vintage Romance palette is perfect for Autumn eyeshadow looks. Each of the 12 shades is super-pigmented and long-lasting, and there are a mixture of matte and sparkly shades in most of the palettes. My favourite berry tones from Vintage Romance are A Vow in Venice, Honeymoon in Hollywood and Forever in Florence. There are also some pretty gold and brown shades in the palette that can add extra dimension and drama to your look.
No Sleek products are tested on animals and all the eyeshadow palettes are suitable for vegans and vegetarians. You can buy Vintage Romance for $20.95 (NZD) on Makeup.co.nz
RoVie is a New Zealand makeup company that I discovered a couple of years ago. All their products are mineral based and cruelty-free. I just love this blush Razzleberry as it can be very subtle or you can use a bit of a heavier hand if you are doing photo shoots, a night out or occasion makeup. It’s also a great colour for darker skin tones as it is quite pigmented. I like the versatility of the deep wine shade as I use it as an eyeshadow, blush and lip gloss when mixed with a little bit of Vaseline.
You can buy it for $25 (NZD) n the RoVie website.
3. Australis Velourlips TOK-I-O
All the Australis Velourlips Matte Lip Creams are highly pigmented lips and super long-lasting. The doe foot applicator helps make application and clean lines really easy. I love the TOK-I-O shade as it is a nice deep shade of purple, with a bit of a berry undertone. Perfect for really making a statement with your lips. Plus it matches one of my favourite scarves.
Although not as long-lasting as the Australis Velourlips, the L.A Girl Glazed Lip Paints are great if you prefer a hyper glossy look to the matte of the velourlips. Daring is my pick from my small collection, for a great berry tone for Autumn. The tube applicator does make it a bit trick to apply so i suggest getting out a lip brush and using a lip liner for this one. All of the L.A girl lip paints has vitamin E and peppermint oil to cool and nourish your lips.
If you prefer the original stick lipstick and are on a student budget like me, Jordanna makeup is perfect for you. I have their lipstick in the shade Fiesta 022, which is perfect for Autumn. Plus it smells like watermelon! They are not as pigmented as the Australis Velourlips, which makes them perfect for those of you who don’t like to go too bold with your makeup. You can normally find Jordanna makeup in your local dollar store. Don’t worry all the products I have tried so far are safe! I would compare the quality to elf. Sometimes you get really great quality products and sometimes they just don’t work for some people.
SHANG-HI! is another berry shade in my Australis Velourlips collection. It’s a great berry shade for someone who like a more “natural” colour than the purple of TOK-I-O. You can buy all of the Velourlip shades for $15 on Beauty Bliss.
Another versatile product is the Lush Liquid Lipsticks as you can use it as a lipstick or creme blusher. I have the shade Confident, which is a wine berry tone and probably the darkest shade in this list. I love the little eyedropper bottles that the Lush Lipsticks and Eye liners come in. The sponge tip makes application easy as you can outline your lips before filling them in. I also love the different names and descriptions of the shades.
“Feeling CONFIDENT is key, and you have this in spades. What a talent to possess today! It can help you achieve anything! Stay bold and great things will come of it.”
