If I thought March flew by pretty quickly, then April went by in a blink. Seriously, where did the month go? I can believe we are almost half way though 2015! April was a pretty laid-back month but it did have a few pretty awesome things.
The Main life event of April definitely had to be going to my first ever concert, which just happened to be for my favourite singer ever, Ed Sheeran!!! I had been eagerly waiting to go since October last year when I bought the tickets for me and my cousin to go. I’d had an awesome afternoon with my cousin beforehand getting ready for the concert at my Aunt’s house and eating dinner at Velvet Burger in Riccarton. I was a bit gutted when I realised that Ed had been at my work earlier that day (typical that exciting things happen when I’m not there!!!), but that couldn’t beat the amazing experience that it was to see him play and sing live. One of favourite parts of his concert was being able to sit back and listen to him building up his tracks for the songs wit just his guitar, voice and a loop pedal. I love that he only needed these 3 things to almost create a complete band.
I thought I would include this section for those of you who don’t follow me on Instagram. These photos above were just a few of my most loved photos posted in April. I launched The Spanish Bluebell’s new look, got matching (fake) swallow tattoos with one of my best friends, participated in the Red My Lips campaign, went to the Flying Burrito brothers for the first time and picked up a copy of a magazine with a fellow #NZBlogger and pinup girl, Miss Victory Violet. Instagram is really the best way to keep up with my daily life and probably the place where I post most often.
Ginger tea. Seriously I have never been a huge tea drinker. I actually kind of hate it and have only been known to drink it when in a very particular mood. This kind of changed when I went to Australia as Rosana got me into drinking ginger tea. I love to drink this on cold evenings or at work as a pick me up. On occasion one of the chefs at work has actually made me a home brew of ginger tea just using a cup of boiling water, juice from a quarter of a lemon, a knob of ginger sliced thinly and a couple of mint leaves. Seriously tastes amazing!
Beauty wise, this month I have really been loving my new Urban Decay Naked 3 palette and the Original Batiste dry shampoo. I haven’t been wearing tons of makeup this month but have definitely been using a bit more skincare. I have been tialling the SImple cleansing wipes and eye makeup remover and have loved using these too. I especially love that they are a cruelty-free brand that you can pick up at your local supermarket! I also have just finished up my Vitamin E Illuminating Moisturiser from the Body Shop so definitely including it in my April Beauty Favourites.
Halfway through the month I managed to catch myself up with Marvel Cinematic Viewing Guide, so I have had a bit of time to kill when I come home from work. This has led to a new TV Show addiction, binge watching Nashville. I few years back one of my best friend showed me this video of two young girls called Lennon and Maisy Stella singing “Call Your Girlfriend”. I could not believe how crazy talented they were and home amazing their harmonies were. (I had a real thing for harmonies back then, actually I still do.) I was hooked, but I feel a little bit silly that I only realised 3 years later they were in such an awesome TV Shows with other incredibly talented musicians. When I heard Clare Bowen and Same Palladino sing “If I didn’t Know Better” I was in love with their voices.
Once again I went on another of my Sarah Dates, this time to watch the newest addition to Disney’s live action movies, Cinderella. First we met up to do a bit of shopping at the mall (we both fell in love with the Bohemian soap from LUSH) before heading to the movie theatre. We have both been so excited to watch this and have been eagerly awaiting it’s arrival to New Zealand Theatres. We were lucky to still catch it at the cinema, but I’m so glad we did! No selfies that night, but funnily enough we had both added a touch of Cinderella to our outfits. Both of us wore blue, but Sarah also wore a blue ribbon in her hair, and me a diamante headband. I’ll be sure to get a review up before it comes out on DVD, but I would definitely recommend watching it, especially if you were a fan of the classic Disney Cinderella.
The Spanish Bluebell Redesigned – Well as you will have noticed I have had The Spanish Spanish Bluebell redesigned by the wonderful Kate Ranfurly Designs, so no surpises that this post was so popular!
Bossy Cosmetics Stippling Brush and Eye/Nose Brushes Review – I finally managed to get up my review of the brushes I was sent from Bossy Cosmetics and I will tell you now, just quickly, I LOVE THEM!! You should definitely check out my review if you are in need of some new (cruelty-free) makeup brushes.
Confessions of a Bookworm – I love a good book and always have done, so it wasn’t too hard to come up with a few confessions of what being a bookworm is like for me. This post has been quite popular on Stumbleupon too, which quite surprised me!
How did April treat you? Anything interesting happen in your life?
