– Easter Camp 2015 || April 2nd to April 6th
Last week started of with an awesome 5 days spent as Southern Eastercamp in Spencer Park. I went a long as a youth leader with my church and took a group of my youth group girls and it’s safe to say we all had a fantastic time. If you don’t know what Eastercamp is all about, it is a Christian camp that run over the Easter weekend for teens from years 9 to 13. It’s an awesome experience to be around 5000 other young people who are all excited to learn more about God. Each camp that I have been to has left me with a deeper understanding of my faith and strengthened my relationship with Him.
– Getting my first Eye of Horus Package
Eye of Horus Cosmetics is quickly becoming a cruelty-free cult favourite in the Beauty Market. Quite a lot of my beauty friends, including Makeupforpandas, and Chikoboo’s Things , absolutely love and vouch for their products. Eye of Horus Cosmetics is an Australian brand centered around providing amazing quality Eye makeup which is cruelty-free. Their cosmetic formulas are based on Ancient Egyptian recipes, made with either an oil or wax base. All their products claim to be long-lasting and great for sensitive eyes.
So I thought, “heck why not?” and ordered myself their Goddess Mascara and Liquid Define Liner. As I ordered from the Australian site they also included one of their very popular Teal Malichite Eye Pencils. If you want to order yourselves any of their goodies you can use the code REVIEW at the checkout to get 15% off your order!
– Going to Ed Sheeran’s concert in Christchurch
What can I say… I GOT TO SEE ED SHEERAN LIVE!!!! LIKE HE WAS IN THE SAME ROOM AS ME!!! Okay back down to earth Sarah…. Unfortunately I wasn’t one of the lucky few who actually got to meet him but I think I picked the best person to see live for my first concert! One of the things I love about Ed’s music is that when he plays live, he builds the entire song using only Jim, his guitar, a couple of mics and a loop pedal. If you don’t understand the amazingness of a loop pedal YOU NEED TO SEE ED LIVE. Seriously, how checkout some live videos of him on YouTube and you won’t be disappointed!
I went to see Ed with my amazing cousin, who is really like a sister and a best friend to me. We always have such incredible experiences together and it’s never awkward between us, even if we haven’t seen each other in a couple of years! I’ll be writing more about out Ed experience this week so keep an eye or two out!
This also means ticking off another thing from my 101 things in 1001 days. Yay!!
– Going back to work
You may be thinking this is a strange thing for me to including in the things that make me happy but I’m being serious. After 13 days off work I was totally ready to get back in and being active about life. Actually I think this whole week has been encouraging myself to be more active about life. I mean, I even booked some driving lessons for the first time!! I really missed seeing my work friends, and especially realised how great an opportunity I have to speak Spanish with some of my co-workers! I think the fact that I now have the security of a full-time job and am earning money has really been a good kick up the butt for me!
-Hosting my first #NZbloggers Twitter Chat
On Sunday night I was lucky enough to have a chance at hosting the #NZbloggers chat. You may have heard me talk about #NZbloggers before in my monthly look backs, but if not, #NZbloggers is a weekly chat for bloggers in New Zealand to come together on Twitter and talk about blogging from 8-9pm on a Sunday might. I always find the chats really helpful and inspiring! You can find out more about them and read the weekly round-up on the #brunchclub website.
This week we talked about Social Media and it’s relationship with Blogging. The topic I chose was not one that I could say I am a huge expert on, but that I have a lot of experience with due to blogging. I found that the chat opened my eyes to new ways of using social media, as well as how to improve the way I am already using it.
I received a lot of encouragement from all the bloggers who took part, but I would love to say a quick thank you once again to everyone who participated, as well as to Laura, Maddy and Lizzy who let me take over the show for a night.
Well that has been 5 things that have made me happy in the last week. Now I want to know about 5 things that made you happy!!
