Words are powerful things, and sometimes in life just a few words can mean a whole lot to you. They can encourage, make you happy, make you reflective and guide you. That is why I want to share 10 of my favourite quotes which are currently helping me through life.
Some days I feel like nothing I do is right and that I have let a lot of people down or know that I have done things that I shouldn’t have. While I was reading Anne of Green Gables this is one of the quotes that stuck out the most and has really helped with those feelings of hopelessness with my current situations. Lucky for me, I also have people around me who have a similar mindset which is really encouraging! Now I like to treat every new day as if my slate has been wiped clean. L. M. Montgomery included a lot of great Christian themes in Anne of Green Gables. so this quote is, spiritually, also a great reminder that I am forgiven because Jesus died for my sins.
This bible verse is really encouraging to me in times where I feel like I am insignificant in a big crowd, feeling worthless or feeling purposeless. I feel special, wanted and purposeful knowing hat God knows my name and has a plan for my life.
This quote from The Breakfast Club (a.k.a one of my favourite movies) follows on from number 6. Everyday I have to remind myself that I shouldn’t be living to impress others but to do something meaningful with my life.
Although I have not yet read any of Maya Angelou’s books, certain quotes, like this one, really stick to me once I’ve read them. I like to this that each day I have done something to put a smile on at least one person’s face.
Sometimes I have to challenge myself when I start to think that I don’t have to do something to help the world, because someone else can. I started to change that by sponsoring a child through World Vision last year, standing up more for my beliefs as well as trying moving towards being completely cruelty-free in my beauty product usage. I say, If not me, then who?
Not only is this quote a goal to live my personal life by, but I also say it to myself when it comes to blogging. I realise that not ever post I write will be interesting to my readers, but I hope that at least 1 in 20 of my readers is helped or inspired in some way by what I write.
